In the latest instalment of our Meet the Team series, we're introducing Chris, one of our Welder/Fabricators, who brings 25 years of industry experience to the business.

Bringing 25 Years of Industry Experience

Chris joined Marantec UK on 1 June 2026, bringing with him a quarter of a century of experience in the industry.

While his primary focus is on welding, fabrication, and test-rig work—specifically producing barrels for roller shutter doors—Chris’s contributions extend well beyond that. He readily lends his skills and experience across the business wherever support is needed

That variety is something he particularly enjoys.

"Being busy and helping in all areas," Chris explains when asked what he enjoys most about his role.

Supporting Quality Manufacturing

Welding and fabrication are important parts of the manufacturing process, requiring accuracy, practical knowledge and attention to detail.

One of the common questions he encounters is whether barrels can be adapted to meet different requirements.

With his extensive industry experience, Chris brings valuable practical knowledge to these discussions and the wider manufacturing team.

When asked what makes Marantec UK stand out from a customer perspective, his answer is straightforward: "The quality and the good team we have."

Teamwork and Continuous Improvement

Communication and teamwork are essential in any manufacturing environment, particularly when different departments and individuals contribute to the finished product.

Chris considers both to be very important in his role, helping the business maintain an effective working environment.

Although Chris is relatively new to Marantec UK, he's already looking towards the future.

Outside of Work

Away from welding and fabrication, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, watching sport and taking his dog for walks.
